Children's Aid Society of Stormont Dundas and Glengarry

The Children’s Aid Society of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry organizes and coordinates a number of special events and fundraising campaigns throughout the year. Supporting, participating or volunteering in these events or fundraising campaigns is a great way to learn more about the Children’s Aid Society. All events enhance community spirit and support the needs of vulnerable children, youth and families in our community.

I Break the Silence

One of the most recognized campaign of the Children’s Aid Society of SDG is most likely the Child abuse prevention campaign. You might have heard about the Purple Ribbon campaign or seen #IBreakTheSilence on social media.

During October, Ontario’s official child abuse prevention month, the OACAS and Children’s Aid Societies raise awareness about how to identify and help prevent child abuse. One of the campaign’s key goals is to educate communities and key partners about how calling a Children’s Aid Society is one of the most effective ways to prevent child abuse.

The message: Use your voice to break the silence on child abuse!

As part of the Child abuse prevention campaign OACAS and member CASs work closely with school boards, schools, and community partners on a provincial “Dress Purple Day”.
